Prediction of technical, economic and environmental effects at the herd level of reproduction management scenarios

Responsible of D1.4. Development of a tool for analyzing economic and environmental effects of alternative reproduction management strategies in dairy livestock systems (extension of SimHerd). Simulations to identify optimal cattle reproduction systems according to local system constraints (e.g. breeds, forage availability) and innovative reproductive management approaches.

To manage the development of a herd level diagnostic tool that can be used on-farm to provide references to permit diagnosis of which aspects of reproductive and/or nutritional management need attention. To manage the development of a benchmarking tool using on-farm  progesterone monitoring systems (Herd Navigator) to estimate the probability of success for insemination according to the available physiological information (progesterone profiles, production level, body condition).
